We started the day with a great breakfast at our hotel.
Our plan was to catch a bus into town to go to the tourist information and do a little looking around. I ordered a travel pass online that was texted to my phone. Then we found out the buses don't run out to our hotel on the weekend - only school days! Luckily it was a nice day to walk!
We headed to the library which was also the tourist information office. I loved the sign.
My French helped here as the word for library is similar in French and Danish.
We learned about the city bikes. Bikes set in stands attached like shopping carts so they can be released by a coin. You can borrow them and then just return them to one of the stands again. As it was fairly flat we thought this would be a great way to get around.
A pretty garden in the middle of town with beautiful wisteria. Many of the houses are this yellow colour with red roofs.
Our bikes that day.
The first St Hans has family significance as Were married there.
There was a two weddings at St Catherineswhile we were there. Of course we had to watch as one bride and groom come out.
The guests threw rose petals and small Danish flags at the couple.
The third church is where my great great grandfather Peder and his siblings were baptized. St Olai.
One of many sculptures in Hjorring.
We rode the bikes home through some beautiful parks and wooded areas.
A few of our balcony from
Outside. We are in an annex of the hotel.
