Saturday May 21, 2016

My flight was about an hour late arriving because of the delay leaving Toronto.  Not a problem for me as no connections.  A breeze getting through customs and picking up luggage.  I picked up my Copenhagen card which allows travel and entry into multiple attractions.  Now it was time to see if the new app on my phone works.  REjesplanen is a Danish travel app that tells you the best way to get from point a to point b by public transport.  It did very well even telling how many stops between stations and which platform to use at the station etc.  It was slightly confused in walking from the station to hotel but I think that was bases on street addresses and the hotel is in the mall attached to the station.
I got checked in and recharged - myself and my phone.

Then I headed out to start my adventures.  I went back on the train to Copenhagen main train station.
A typical large bustling station with multiple tracks and fast food places galore.  Right across the street from the station is Tivoli Gardens so that was very easy.
Tivoli Gardens is a large amusement park I believe the second oldest in the world.  As well as many rides there are beautiful gardens, several stages, an aquarium and just lots to look at.  I got supper from a hamburger stand.

They normally have a pantomime or ballet on a Saturday evening except today and I couldn't make it until 11.45 for the fireworks but I enjoyed just  wandering around checking things  out.

It was already a long day so that was enough for me.

  1. Ah, Tivoli Gardens! It's been many years since we've been there. I remember an underground concourse near there which had a multitude of shops. Be sure to look for Fazer Mints when you are there ... they are delicious & we seldom find them here.
