Tuesday 24th May 2016.

The purpose of our trip was to trace some of our ancestors so we started the day at the National Archives.  (Once we found it)

You have to set up an account and get signed in to start.  We then talked to one of the researchers and told him what we were looking for (military rolls to track a great uncle). He was very helpful but told us we could do that on line and gave us a few pointers.  He was able to show us burial records for my great great grandmother which gave us a couple of clues.   Needless to say our visit to these archives was short.
Lunch  was at a canal side Cafe - build your own open faced sandwiches so very Danish.

After lunch we headed to the Danish National Museum.
This was an incredible free museum that we saw a fraction of in the afternoon.  We learned much Danish history through the ages and lots about burial procedures and the significance.

An auroch.

Leila found a boat to paddle.
They have found many caches of treasure and it all belongs to the Nation so has to be turned in and lots is right there at the museum.
All  this was thirsty work so we stopped at a sidewalk cafe for a beer.

After supper we compared notes on our research so far. We really needed Moe here to fill in the gaps - next time!
